John M.Reiners

John Reiners grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota, which probably explains a few things. He went on to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard, built a business importing wicker and rattan on the East Coast, and then spent 25 years as a registered nurse. Somewhere in all of that, he also became one of the more serious independent researchers in the field of Sasquatch behavior.

In November 2020, while driving near Rough River Lake outside Owensboro, Kentucky, John witnessed a large, gray-skinned figure moving on all four limbs emerge from a ravine and pursue a buck at full speed. What followed was almost three years of research that became Crouching Behemoth, the first book of its kind on quadrupedal Sasquatch. His follow-up, Aquatic Sasquatch!, tackled an equally unexplored corner of the subject, and remains the only book dedicated entirely to Bigfoot and water.

His first book, More Than Just Fishing, is something else entirely. It's a memoir about a pact he made with his father at 16 years old, a promise to always make time for each other no matter how busy life got. At 58, with his dad at 85 and still going strong, they still take that annual fishing trip. The book is funny, warm, and entirely true.

John takes his subject matter seriously. He also has a well-documented habit of slipping in a joke when you least expect it. His books reflect both.
